The lamb does not consent to the conversion. The lamb does not consent to anything. The conversion is the lamb's identity in the cosmology of the people who eat it.

There is a category of relationship in which you arrive whole and leave smaller. The transaction is described as care. The transaction is described as healing. The transaction is described as being known. After several iterations, you are described as different by the people who knew you before, and you no longer disagree with them.

This is not always bad. Some changes are good. Some lambs would have wanted to be the dinner if they had been asked. The point is not the morality of the change — the point is the obscurement of the price.

The shirt shows two lambs. One upright, one upside-down. They are the same lamb at two points in the process.
